Understanding Degrees & Certificate Programs at Dubois College

At Dubois College, we offer a range of academic pathways to help students achieve their personal and professional goals. Here’s the difference between our Associate, Bachelor’s, and Certificate programs:

 Associate Degree (2-Year Program)

An Associate degree is a two-year program designed to build foundational knowledge in a specific field. It’s ideal for students looking to gain career-ready skills or serve as a stepping stone to a Bachelor’s degree. Credits earned in an Associate program can be applied toward a Bachelor’s degree, allowing for a smooth transition into further studies.

Bachelor’s Degree (4-Year Program)

A Bachelor’s degree is a four-year program that provides in-depth study in a specialized field. It is the most widely recognized undergraduate degree and opens doors to higher-paying job opportunities, leadership roles, and graduate study options. After completing a Bachelor’s degree, students may choose to continue their education by pursuing a Master’s or Doctoral degree.

Certificate Programs (Short-Term Training)

Certificate programs are short, specialized courses that provide students with practical skills and industry knowledge in a specific area. These programs are perfect for career advancement, professional development, or gaining new expertise without committing to a full degree.

Choosing the right path depends on your goals. Whether you’re looking for a quick skill boost, a solid career foundation, or an advanced degree, Dubois College is here to support your journey!

At Dubois College, all courses are conducted in English, and students must have a strong level of English proficiency to successfully complete their studies.

Who is Exempt from the English Proficiency Requirement?

  • Native English speakers automatically meet this requirement.
  • Students who graduated from an accredited institution where English was the primary language of instruction are also exempt.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Program
For non-native English speakers who need additional language support, Dubois College offers an English as a Second Language (ESL) program to help students achieve the necessary proficiency level for academic success.

ESL Program Details:

  • 8 proficiency levels, tailored to students’ individual needs.
  • Students are placed based on an approved English language test score.
  • Some students may not need to complete all 8 levels, depending on their starting proficiency.

If English is not your native language and your previous education was not in English, you have three options during the application process:

1️ Upload a diploma or transcript from an institution where English was the language of instruction.

3️  Automatically start at the highest level of our ESL program, “English Foundations.”
